care care Designed, Developed and Made in Finland

Discover why Finnish-made car wash and car care products are a reliable, sustainable, and high-quality choice for keeping your vehicle in top condition.

1. Finnish Car Care Products Designed for Local Conditions

KORREK car care products are designed with Finland’s demanding weather conditions in mind. They are developed to make car cleaning as easy and efficient as possible while delivering outstanding results. Our product development follows global trends in the car care industry, continuously creating better and more user-friendly solutions for every car owner.

2. Product Safety Comes First

The core principle of KORREK car care product development is user safety. This means every product label provides clear information on safe use and ingredients, and all products have official safety data sheets.

As a Finnish chemical producer, we only use raw materials with minimal environmental impact and approved under EU legislation. All surfactants and emulsifiers used in KORREK products are readily biodegradable. Our goal in product development is always to choose the most environmentally friendly option available. Some KORREK products contain palm oil–based ingredients, which Berner sources exclusively from suppliers who are members of the RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil).

3. Finnish Manufacturing Supports Local Jobs

All KORREK products are made in Finland at Berner’s factory in Heinävesi. Product development, sales, and marketing are based at Berner’s headquarters in Herttoniemi, Helsinki. Choosing Finnish-made products supports local employment in many ways. It helps preserve jobs and ensures the continued availability of domestic products and services. Consumers can also trust that working conditions meet high standards. Even KORREK packaging and logistics are sourced from Finnish partners, further increasing the positive impact on local jobs.

4. Lower Emissions

KORREK products are manufactured in Heinävesi, Eastern Finland, using 100% renewable energy. Local production also means shorter transport distances, resulting in lower emissions and a smaller environmental footprint.

Production and Product Development

KORREK products are manufactured at Berner’s own production facility in Heinävesi. The factory employs around 60 people, making Berner the largest private employer in the area.

All KORREK product development takes place in Berner’s laboratory in Herttoniemi, Helsinki. Both the Herttoniemi and Heinävesi laboratories hold GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) certification granted by the Finnish Medicines Agency. GLP ensures reliable and high-quality laboratory testing for regulatory and safety purposes.

The Korrek Pro Center chain is a new car wash concept offering a range of car care services, such as washing and coating, using our Finnish-made products. The first location, Korrek Pro Center Lippulaiva, opened on March 31, 2022.

Short domestic transport distances for finished KORREK products help reduce the overall carbon footprint.

Raw Materials

The raw materials used in KORREK products are sourced from within the EU, including Germany, Denmark, and France. These materials are sourced from abroad as they are not manufactured in Finland. Berner uses only raw materials approved under EU legislation.

All surfactants and emulsifiers used in KORREK products are readily biodegradable. In product development, the aim is always to select raw materials with the lowest possible environmental impact. Some KORREK products include ingredients derived from palm oil. Berner does not purchase palm oil directly but sources all palm oil–based ingredients from suppliers who are members of the RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil).

In 2019, around 85 percent of all palm oil used by Berner was RSPO Mass Balance certified. The company’s goal is to reach 100 percent RSPO Mass Balance certification for all palm oil–based ingredients.

Packaging Materials

ChatGPT sanoi:

Most of the packaging used for KORREK products is manufactured in Finland and is 99% recyclable. This means the materials can be reused to create new products or converted into energy. Even the black KORREK bottles are recyclable because they do not contain carbon black. The pumps are made from multiple types of plastic and are currently used for energy recovery, but we are actively developing more recyclable and sustainable alternatives.

Most KORREK bottles are made from PET plastic, which will gradually be replaced with recycled PET. The transition will take place smoothly, as all existing bottles will be used first. Other packaging materials used for KORREK products include PE and PP plastics as well as metal. Some products are also packed in corrugated cardboard or cartons for transport and storage. All packaging is suitable for plastic, cardboard, or metal recycling.

Our goal is to ensure that by 2025, all KORREK packaging is either recyclable or reusable.
